For more than a decade, the San Diego Asian Film Festival’s Taiwan Showcase has brought the rich history of Taiwanese cinema in what is now the largest showcase of Taiwanese films in North America. In recent years, Taiwan seems to have taken more presence in American news and media. As a young Taiwanese American adult, I’ve been fascinated to see growing awareness of my cultural roots among my peers.
Homecoming Screening of “Extremely Unique Dynamic” Brings Ivan Leung Back To His San Diego Roots
The highly anticipated homecoming screening of Extremely Unique Dynamic, a hilarious and heartfelt stoner-bromantic comedy, is set to take center stage at Pacific Arts Movement’s 25th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) on November 10 at Regal Edwards Mira Mesa. This milestone festival will bring local filmmaker and actor Ivan Leung back to where it all began, honoring his ties to San Diego, SDSU, and Mira Mesa High School.

Two very unique roles for two well-known actresses that echo a Freaky Friday comedy in every twist and turn that will surely keep you guessing on what will happen next.
San Diego Asian Film Festival
Last week, the 24th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival hosted by non-profit media arts organization Pacific Arts Movement wrapped up its 10-day run. Lotus Magazine attended for the first time, experiencing what has now become the largest exhibition of Asian cinema on the West Coast. 160+ films from more than 30 countries and in more than 30 languages were included in the impressive lineup that ran from November 2-11, 2023.
