Our editorial calendar is fully updated with our deadlines for the year and the themes for each issue.

We are now accepting submissions for our Q3 issue, which are due May 28, 2025. The theme for Q3 is “Fusion”! Any articles that fit into the theme in some way are welcome, and if you would like to contribute but need a bit of inspiration, here are some questions/prompts to get you started:

Identity

  • What does "fusion" mean to you when it comes to your heritage or upbringing?

  • How has blending languages, traditions, or beliefs shaped your sense of self?

Media/Entertainment

  • What music do you listen to that borrows influences from AAPI music? Or, vice versa: AAPI creators that borrow influences from elsewhere? How about art movements or literary retellings?

  • Create a playlist that tells a story of fusion—what genres, languages, or moods are mixing?

  • How do aesthetics from one culture get reimagined or reinterpreted in another—what's respectful vs. appropriative?

Culture/Community

  • Share a story about a community event or tradition that mixes different cultural practices.

  • How does fusion create new cultural norms while preserving the old?

Lifestyle

  • What are your favorite fusion foods or AAPI fusion restaurants in SoCal?

  • How do you blend tradition with modernity in your day-to-day life?

  • Create a photo essay or visual diary that shows a fusion of ideas and concepts in your home, rituals, or routines.

Art/Prose

  • Any pieces of art or prose that relate to the theme are welcome!
