Quality Time: Inwards and Outwards

With the holiday season in swing, it’s important to spend some time and energy on our loved ones and on ourselves. We all have different ways of recharging our batteries, so let’s make sure to honor that this giving season!

Spending quality time with friends/family

From activities with friends, bonding with family, or getting involved with your community, there are endless possibilities to actively engage with the people closest to you and enjoy the simplicity of spending time with the ones you care about most. There are many things you can do together without breaking the bank.

  • Get in touch with nature with a local hike

  • Let your creativity flow with a DIY wine and paint night

  • Organize a potluck picnic during a lovely sunset

  • Gather your friends for a group food crawl around the city

  • Explore the town by bike

  • Get active with a group exercise

  • Compete over board games, bowling, or trivia night

  • Learn something new at a local museum

  • Challenge yourselves to find the most interesting things at a flea market

  • Complete your to-do’s together - productive and fun!

Giving quality time to yourself

While it is important to give to others, it is also just as important to make sure that we remember to give love to ourselves. Don't forget that you deserve some love, too!

  • Try your hand at a DIY project you’ve been wanting to do

  • Meditate for 5-10 minutes

  • Bake your favorite holiday cookies

  • Go window shopping

  • Free-write your thoughts and feelings into a journal

  • Look up a new recipe for a nutritious meal and give it a go

  • Treat yourself to a massage

  • Have coffee over your favorite playlist while people-watching
